The parallels between our two sectors are striking; we are both made up by small passionate owner-operators, and committed larger operators, working together on strengthening Tasmania's brand as a visitor destination and a wine producer of high quality.
We also each face challenges in managing volume and maximising yield, while protecting what makes our products and experiences so special and unique in the world.
The Tasmanian tourism and wine sectors are also increasingly invested in one and other. Wine is now a major visitor drawcard to Tasmania and especially our regional areas, while visitor growth brings more customers directly to the cellar door.
To celebrate and consider the future of Tasmania's burgeoning Wine Tourism Sector, TICT and Wine Tasmania invite our industry friends each year to 'Blend'' - to celebrate, discuss and grow Tasmania's wine tourism sectors.
The inaugural BLEND was held in June 2019 at Josef Chromy Wines.
BLEND will be back in mid-2020
