Quality Tourism Programs
Once your business is base-level accredited through the Sustainable Tourism (SUST) Program, you can choose from a suite of additional programs to further certify your business against standards specific to certain markets and tourism practices.
If you are a Local Tourism Association, your organisation may apply for Local Tourism Association (LTA) Accreditation as your entry-level accreditation program (ineligible for SUST).
Aside from Star Ratings, there is no additional fee to undertake these programs provided your Sustainable Tourism accreditation remains current.
Sustainable Tourism Accreditation (SUST)
Sustainable Tourism Accreditation is Tasmania’s base-level entry point to become Accredited. It incorporates sustainability across environmental, cultural, social and commercial business practices. The Sustainable Tourism Accreditation program is supported by our national partner, Tourism Australia.

Local Tourism Association Accreditation
This program has been developed to formally recognise tourism associations that represent and support the visitor economy at a local level. LTA Accreditation sets a clear national benchmark for governance, industry engagement and accountability, reinforcing the LTA's role as the recognised voice of tourism for its destination. (Please note this accreditation is for local tourism associations only, not individual businesses)

Star Ratings
Star Ratings - an internationally recognised symbol for quality accommodation standards. This accreditation is only awarded to six distinct accommodation categories: hotels; motels; serviced apartments; hosted accommodation; caravan-holiday parks; and self-catering properties.

Accessible Tourism Assessment & Accreditation
Provides businesses with a comprehensive online accessibility assessment and an Accessibility Information guide for visitors. Produced in consultation with leading accessible tourism experts, the Accessible Tourism program takes the business through a comprehensive self-assessment that reviews and evaluates their accessibility provisions across five disability categories: cognitive / autism; limited mobility; low hearing; low vision; wheelchairs and scooters. The Accessible Tourism program is supported by our national partner, Tourism Australia.

Assist businesses to identify appropriate markets, develop their product to meet their target markets' needs and expectations and to implement business practices required to work within the travel distribution system. Pre-requisite: Online Trade Distribution.

Recognises businesses that have appropriate business practices to work within the international travel distribution system. In order to receive this accreditation, you must have already completed the Online Trade Distribution and International Trade Distribution programs, and met the standards required across both programs.

This self-led business tool supports businesses to undertake critical thinking on how staff, finances, operations and marketing and communications will be managed in the event of a crisis or major incident. By encouraging proactive thinking, the Business Continuity business tool supports businesses to reduce risks, respond effectively to disruptions and recover stronger, protecting both business stability and visitor confidence.

Visitor Centre Accreditation
Indicated by a yellow and blue ‘I’ sign, this Accreditation is awarded where a visitor centre has achieved certain quality standards in their service provision and operational systems, including staff training, information relating to local road and transport, information on local amenities and attractions, maps and visitor centre on-site amenities.
