The Tasmanian Young Tourism Network is the professional development and networking organisation especially for young and emerging Tasmanian tourism and hospitality professionals.
The YTN is a major initiative of the TICT with support from Pennicott Wilderness Journeys, which aims to provide opportunities for like-minded young Tasmanians working within the visitor economy to meet, share ideas, engage with industry leaders, and participate in exciting professional development opportunities.
Our young and emerging professionals are the future of our industry, and we want to ensure they are nurtured to achieve their goals - hence, this is how the YTN came about. We are committed to engage young Tasmanians in career opportunities within the tourism and hospitality industries, and help grow the future workforce and next generation of industry leaders.
YTN will aim to do this by facilitating an array of different events and initiatives throughout the next 12 months and beyond. Currently, YTN has the following two programs underway:
1.Trusted Advisor Program
The Trusted Advisor Program is a 10-week coaching program designed to nurture and guide young or emerging advisees through fortnightly sessions with advisors. This is a collaboration between YTN Tasmania and YTN Victoria, enabling participants to create connections across both states and develop their understanding of the broader industry. Applications are closed and the Program is currently underway.
2.Education Tour
Young and/or emerging leaders within the tourism industry are being given the chance to attend a multi-day, educational tour through some of Victoria's most successful tourism regions. If selected, you will experience unique and authentic products and experiences, learn first-hand from their operators about what makes them a success, and learn about the state's broader vision for tourism. The Network is run by a volunteer committee:
- Bella Alcorso: Communications & Events Coordinator, TICT
- Emma Azon-Jacometti: Content & Communications Lead, Pax Mondo
- Sam Graudins: Experience & Development Manager, Pennicott Wilderness Journeys
- Liana Seadon: Sales Manager, Kinetic Tasmania
