About Grant - Chair, Tourism Tasmania
Grant O'Brien is the Chair of the Tourism Tasmania Board of Directors.
He is a Tasmanian through and through, growing up on the north-west coast. Grant entered employment with Woolworths Limited in 1987 as an Assistant Accountant and then rose through the ranks to become the CEO and Managing Director at Woolworths Limited, a position he held between 2011 and 2016.
A member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors since 2011, Grant served as Chair of the Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority for a 5 year period from December 2019 and was previously Chair of the Australian Sports Foundation and Deputy Chair of the Stars Foundation. He was also a member of the Tasmanian AFL Taskforce and has been appointed as the inaugural Chair of the Tasmanian AFL Club.
