The Tasmanian Young Tourism Network is a professional development and networking community for young and emerging tourism and hospitality professionals across Tasmania.

An initiative of the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania, with support from Pennicott Wilderness Journeys, the YTN provides opportunities for like minded individuals working within the visitor economy to connect, share ideas, engage with industry leaders, and participate in meaningful professional development.

Young and emerging professionals are the future of our industry. The YTN exists to support and nurture this next generation, helping individuals build capability, explore career pathways, and contribute to a strong and sustainable tourism workforce in Tasmania.

We are committed to engaging young Tasmanians in career opportunities within tourism and hospitality, while fostering the skills, networks and leadership needed to shape the future of the industry.

Throughout the year, the YTN delivers a range of initiatives, including:

Education Tour

Young and/or emerging leaders within the tourism industry are given the chance to attend a multi-day, educational tour through some of Victoria's most successful tourism regions.

If selected, participants will experience unique and authentic products and experiences, learn first-hand from their operators about what makes them a success, and learn about the state's broader vision for tourism. Check out more details by clicking here.

The Network is run by a volunteer committee:

  • Larni Davies: Workforce & Specialist Programs Manager + Cerys Phillips: TasTAFE Intern (Advanced Diploma), TICT
  • Sam Graudins: Island Host, Picnic Island
  • Liana Seadon: Sales Manager, Kinetic Tasmania
  • Daniela Ruiz: Tourism Sustainability Manager, ERC Protocol
