Skilled in Sixty is a webinar series designed to deliver 60-minute, bite-sized information sessions on topics that matter to Tassie tourism operators.
Sessions are hosted on a monthly basis and are available for free for TICT Accredited Operators and Members, and a small $25 fee for non-accredited operators.

Our October webinar will delve into how to apply for grants, and how incorporating research and data can support your application.
You will first hear from Kelly Brown, Manager of the Business Tasmania Service, who will share valuable tips and insights for those new to applying for grants, as well as for those with some experience looking to improve their applications. Kelly will guide you through the process and show you how to provide grant assessors with all the necessary information:
- how to find grants you’re eligible for
- what to look out for in grant guidelines
- what’s involved in putting together an application
- how to make your application stand out.
Next, Paul Fleming from Tourism Tasmania's Research & Insights team as he provides a brief overview of Tasmania's key markets and demographics, and highlight useful data to support grant applications and business planning.
There will be time for Q&A at the end of the presentation.

The Australian Government has just announced new 2035 emissions reduction targets of 62–70% below 2005 levels. But what does this actually mean for tourism businesses in Tasmania?
In this 60-minute Skilled in Sixty webinar, Lauren Cameron – our Carbon & Sustainability Advisor - will break down the targets in clear, simple terms and explore the opportunities and challenges they present for our industry. Participants will walk away with practical tips on how to align their business with national and state priorities, manage emerging expectations from visitors, and make confident decisions that reduce emissions and boost resilience.
