Understanding visitor data and research and how to use it in your business

Intended Workshop Audience: Anyone working in tourism and hospitality looking to learn more about the traveller markets and demographics to Tasmania and how best to leverage this data in your own business, communication channels and awards / grant applications.

Workshop description: Want to better understand visitors to Tasmania and how use that data to your advantage?

Great data can strengthen your business planning, grant and awards submissions and help you adapt to changing visitor profiles and behaviours.

This practical workshop will show you how to make the most of the data and research available through Tourism Tasmania.

We’ll share Tasmania’s latest visitor trends and explore how this can support your planning, storytelling, and growth.

In the workshop we will provide an overview of Tasmania's key markets, demographics and how to connect with visitors interests and reasons for coming.

Deep dive into practical ways tourism data can help with:

  • Business planning and investment
  • Grant and award submissions
  • Visitor profiles and trends - who’s coming, why they’re here, and what they’re looking for
  • Industry toolkits

We’re also keen to hear from you. What data from Tourism Tasmania do you currently use, and what data would you ideally like to make confident business decisions?
