Tourism Industry Coincil Tasmania

From the CEO - 22/11/24

It's certainly been a big few months of advocacy from the TICT on behalf of our industry, and things show no sign of slowing down.

We've been working hard every day to ensure industry's voice is heard. We've worked in close collaboration with Tourism Tasmania and the Tasmanian Hospitality Association to launch a new intrastate campaign.

At the same time, we're also ensuring that as much industry information and feedback as possible is fed into preparations for winter next year as well as the correct timing of the various initiatives announced by the Tasmanian Government in response to the new Spirit of Tasmania delays. We should be able to provide an over-arching update on all those components in coming weeks, however in the meantime, you can find the Premier's latest update for industry here.

Before the end of the year, the TICT will be providing submissions to the review of kunanyi/Mount Wellington, the Government's proposed Government Business Enterprise reforms as well as preparing for next year's State Budget and advocating for our priorities in the lead up to the Federal Election campaign. We also continue to celebrate the great things happening in our visitor economy every day to promote confidence.

I hope to see many of you as I travel around the state in the next few weeks to catch up to mark and farewell 2024.
