Tourism Industry Coincil Tasmania

From the CEO - 12/07/24

Today's update is designed to bring you up to speed with a number of developments that have occurred over the past week and opportunities for you to be involved and engaged. We've already received a strong response to our latest Industry Sentiment survey, but the more responses we receive the more powerful it is, especially in the current economic climate. More details on that below. Also, this week;

  • Registrations are now open for our next Skilled in Sixty Session designed to bring you up to speed with new employer requirements under the Fair Work Act - an important one if you're still needing more information.
  • Below is a link to the Regional Tourism Development Loan Scheme announced this week - an election commitment from the Tasmanian Government, designed to promote product innovation and encourage visitation to our regions. Click here for more information.
  • Launch of the Supporting Aboriginal people in Tourism and Hospitality Grant program.
  • Additional Positive Impact Workshops are now available in more regions, and don’t forget to secure tickets to the 2024 Future Focus: Tasmanian Tourism Conference.
  • It was also great to join West by North West this week to visit Cradle Mountain with the Minister for Parks, Nick Duigan, to talk strategically about the future of the popular destination.
  • Also, for those who haven't yet checked out the concept designs for the multi-purpose Macquarie Point stadium, you can do so at https://www.macpoint.com/stadium

So, another busy update - we hope to catch up with you out and about soon.
