The following eight Tasmanian towns have been announced finalists in the 2025 Tassie's Top Tourism Town Awards (click on the town names to view more info).

BEAUTY POINT:
Beauty Point is a town in Tasmania shaped by water and located where the Tamar Valley meets the sea. It's a place where time slows, stories deepen, and the journey becomes as meaningful as the destination. Just under an hour from Launceston and Devonport Spirit of Tasmania terminal, Beauty Point is an easy beginning to any Tamar Valley itinerary. And yet, once you arrive, you'll understand why many visitors end up staying longer than they planned.

BINALONG BAY:
Binalong Bay, on Tasmania’s East Coast in larapuna / Bay of Fires, is where energy meets serenity. Voted Australia’s Best Beach in 2025, it invites connection, discovery and immersion. Swim in turquoise waters, wander white sand beaches, or snorkel vibrant marine life among orange-lichen rocks. Paddleboard across glassy bays or ride the Bay of Fires Mountain Bike Trail for adrenaline with ocean views. By afternoon, slow the pace with a picnic in a secluded cove or a hammock by the sea. BOTHWELL:
Bothwell, located in Tasmania's wild heart, the Central Highlands, isn't for the hurried tourist. It's for mindful visitors seeking connection, breathtaking highland landscapes, and wide-open spaces. It's a place where you're not just passing through — your part of something unassuming but astonishing; renowned for its rich Scottish and Irish heritage, the Australasian Golf Museum, tartan-themed signage, and numerous heritage buildings. DELORAINE:
Deloraine, nestled in Tasmania’s Meander Valley, blends heritage charm with wild beauty. Cradled by the Meander River beneath the Great Western Tiers / Kooparoona niara, this ‘Short Walks Capital’ invites visitors to slow down and savour life. Stroll art‑lined streets, river walks and the historic Folk Museum; then explore nearby Liffey Falls, glow‑worm caves, and Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary. Farm‑gate honesty boxes, truffle farms, cool‑climate wines and country pubs celebrate fertile farmland and community warmth, while crystal‑clear night skies sparkle overhead. Deloraine invites you to slow down and savour life’s simplest joys.

DEVONPORT:
Nestled along Tasmania’s North-West Coast, Devonport is a city of natural beauty and vibrant community spirit. Expansive parklands and scenic pathways invite exploration, while the city’s rich history shines through its cultural landmarks, such as the Tiagarra Indigenous Cultural Centre, Home Hill, and the Bass Strait Maritime Museum. Sandy beaches offer tranquil retreats, perfect for unwinding by the sea. By night, the "From Sky to Sea" light show transforms the cityscape, celebrating its coastal identity. The nearby Cradle Mountain provides an unforgettable day trip. More than just a destination, Devonport is a place of genuine stories, pride, and connection.

PORT ARTHUR:
Port Arthur, nestled on Tasmania’s Turrakana/Tasman Peninsula in the Tasman Region, is a charming town that blends rich convict history with breathtaking landscapes, thrilling coastal adventures and exceptional local food and beverages. RICHMOND:
Nestled in the picturesque Coal River Valley, the quaint town of Richmond offers a delightful blend of history and natural beauty. Explore the iconic Richmond Bridge, wander along cobblestone streets adorned with boutique shops, and savour the local culture at cosy cafes. Embark on wildlife adventures in nearby parks, enjoy fresh produce at local farms, or navigate timber and hedge mazes in the town itself. With family-friendly accommodations and a welcoming atmosphere, Richmond ensures a rejuvenating getaway for parents and endless fun for the little ones, creating cherished memories for a lifetime.

STANLEY:
A spectacular peninsula in Bass Strait boasts some of the cleanest air in the world. Nestled at the base of an ancient volcanic plug, lies the charming fishing village of Stanley in northwest Tasmania. Here, the hero is the ancient land itself – wild and rocky outcrops adorn stunning seascapes. Historic cottages create a picturesque frame around the town's two pristine beaches, and local residents include a fairy penguin colony. Stanley boasts world-class culinary delights, including freshly caught Tasmanian seafood, Cape Grim Beef and local artisan produce. A small haven that packs a powerful punch for making family memories.
