From the CEO - 28/11/25
It's difficult to believe that we're already at the end of November and in full swing preparing for summer. Today's update includes information about a number of programs that may be of interest to you, so please take some time to have a quick read.
The TICT is still very busy continuing to develop new products and services and ensuring you have all the information you need going into 2026. In our final update of the year in the next few weeks, we will include a calendar of our major events, including the Tasmanian Tourism Conference, so you are able to prepare and save dates in advance.
It was a pleasure to host the CEOs of every state and territory tourism council in Hobart last week. The group worked through strategic planning for our national advocacy agenda and future direction, and we also elected a new leadership team. I was genuinely humbled to be chosen as the new Deputy Chair of the Australian Tourism Industry Council. This support from colleagues around the country reflects the strong regard for Tasmania’s approach to industry advocacy and the work we deliver here at home. I’m looking forward to bringing our Tasmanian experience to the national table and helping strengthen outcomes for operators across the board.
Finally, as we move into the summer season, that signals the risk of bushfire. Please be assured all leaders in the visitor economy are preparing for this and in the event of an emergency, as is standard practice, communications will be streamlined and come from the one source of truth being emergency services and Tourism Tasmania. The TICT however remains ready to provide feedback and assist wherever we can.
As always, thank you for the incredible work you are doing every day on the ground and have a good weekend.
Amy Hills - CEO, Tourism Industry Council Tasmania (TICT)
