From the CEO - 28/05/25
If there's one CEO's Update that I'm keen for you to read and respond to - it's this one! That's because the number one issue I continue to hear from our operators is that both the cost and accessibility of insurance is having considerable impacts on you and your businesses. But without the data and an accurate snapshot of just how much it's impacting our industry - it's very hard to advocate for solutions.
So, the TICT is working with Dr Allison Anderson from Epistome Consulting to do exactly this, and we need your help. The long and the short of it is that the more operators who participate in our survey (details below) - the better picture we will get and the more meaningful conversations we will have with Governments. Please be assured that your responses will be strictly confidential and will be treated with the upmost care. While I certainly don't want to raise expectations that we can solve this incredibly complex global problem - this is an important step in quantifying the impact here in Tasmania. We will continue to communicate with you as we work through this project, including through a dedicated webinar once we get all the results. Thank you in advance for your participation.
Be sure to check out some other important announcements, including our Tasmanian Tourism Conference (only 5 weeks to go) and our EV Workshop Series in regional Tasmania coming up this June.
Lastly, you may have seen earlier this week that we announced the destinations vying for the title of Tassie’s Top Tourism Towns of 2025 - Beauty Point, Binalong Bay, Bothwell, Deloraine, Devonport, Port Arthur, Richmond and Stanley. We encourage you to check out their incredible entries on the TICT website and vote for your favourite towns. We’ve been blown away with the number of people who have already voted - more than 1000!
